Clear Aligner Production Solution and New Software Integrations for Orthodontic Market

NEW SOFTWARE PARTNERSHIPS + INTEGRATIONS

Our software makes it possible for labs to quickly and seamlessly integrate with existing CAD/CAM software. That’s why we’re excited to announce our new software partnerships and integrations with dental partners uLabs, EasyRx, and Orthoselect.

ULabs is announcing new support for Carbon printers. They have validated Carbon M-series printers for models for sequential aligners and for direct fabrication of Indirect Bonding Trays from their soon-to-be released software. ULabs will enable the direct nesting and queuing of models and Indirect Bonding Trays in Carbon proprietary print management software.

In addition to this, we’re working with OrthoSelect to create a validated workflow that now allows dental labs and dentist offices to print Direct Fab Indirect Bonding trays, designed in OrthoSelect’s proprietary DIBS Software and printed on Carbon M2 printers. This new validated workflow greatly increases the efficiency and effectiveness of designing and manufacturing an Indirect Bonding Tray.

Last but not least, we’re also announcing a new software integration with EasyRx where any lab that receives a scan through EasyRx will be able to directly nest and queue their models in Carbon proprietary print management software.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION FOR YOUR LAB
LIMITED-TIME M2D PROMOTION

Carbon’s hardware solutions have expanded to include products that are specifically tuned to the dental market, including the M2d printer. This new printer has a smaller build area than Carbon’s M2, perfect for dental offices printing in-house and mid-sized labs with lower volume needs. With a remote software upgrade, the M2d printer can also scale up to the same production capacity as an M2. Through September 2019, every new Carbon M2d subscription comes with 30 days of the much larger M2 build area for maximum throughput for free.

L1 PRODUCTION SOLUTION FOR CLEAR ALIGNERS

Carbon’s L1 production solution is the dental industry’s first end-to-end solution for producing models at high volume for clear aligner thermoforming. It allows labs to start printing thousands of aligner models immediately and is designed for maximum accuracy and volume. Carbon dental partner Derby Dental had been printing aligner models on an M2 printer. After seeing rapid growth in its Smile Shapers and Tru-Smile brands of sequential aligners, they decided to get another M2 printer and a Smart Part Washer (SPW) to increase their throughput and automate their post-processing. Now, they are currently scaling up to manufacture their aligner models utilizing Carbon’s L1 work cell for thermoforming. Read more on their story here.

ORTHODONTIC MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT UPDATES

In March, we introduced several additional third-party resins for dental applications. Specifically, we worked with Keystone Industries to develop the Keystone KeySplint Soft Clear material: exclusive to Carbon, KeySplint Soft Clear is expected to be the first FDA Class II cleared resin for dental splints and night guards. More details on the late Spring 2019 launch will be coming soon!

In addition to this, our new Dreve FotoDent Indirect Bonding Tray material for orthodontic applications has been launched in the US and EU.
